We provide a safe space for the children of Mocorito to play, learn, explore, create, take a break, and build meaningful relationships. The opportunities we provide through our programs enhance cognitive, motor, social, and spiritual development. Our hope, first and foremost, is to help the children of Mocorito experience God’s everlasting and unconditonal love for them. Secondly, we hope that our programs will serve to help these children become the best versions of themselves and cherished members of their community.

Whether you are hanging out with friends in the colorful downtown, worshiping in a church, shopping for groceries at Ley’s, or eating a juicy mixto de harina taco, you are bound to be interrupted at least 10 times to receive a handshake or a hug from one of the friendly locals of Mocorito.

We love our home in this tight-knit community. Mocorito is a small, beautiful city with many larger cities surrounding it. It is nestled between green mountains and a couple of shallow rivers. The city consists of a few schools, a park, some small businesses, colorful shops, tempting restaurants, and friendly neighborhoods. The sun is always shining and there is life everywhere. The local people are simple; their generosity and joy are contagious. Mocorito is known for its beautiful sunflower fields in the springtime. You can expect to see tons of visitors coming from far away towns to see the beautiful blooms smiling at the sun!

We are honored to have been called by God to this unique city and are excited to work with the local people to fulfill His purposes. Their passion and desire for Safehome is inspiring. Together, we believe that we can work to create lasting change in the lives of the children of Mocorito and the surrounding cities and villages.

Our programs give children the opportunity to hear the gospel, engage in social emotional learning, get exercise in the gym, express themselves through music and art, learning through their senses, have access to books and toys, and enjoy a healthy snack.
